By introducing a freestanding steel structure, carefully positioned without interfering with the building’s existing load-bearing system, we were able to provide a respectful and sustainable solution for this historic environment.
The hydraulic system we implemented ensures maximum efficiency, particularly in limited shaft spaces, while operating safely and precisely without imposing additional load on the building. This approach preserves the structural integrity of the property while elevating user comfort to a high level.
Inside the cabin, we used single-piece glass panels that require advanced craftsmanship, allowing users to experience the building’s historic atmosphere without interruption. This creates a seamless visual connection with the stone walls, artworks, and architectural details throughout the space. In this project, transparency is not merely an aesthetic choice; it is a deliberate design decision that establishes a meaningful connection between the user and the building’s historical layers.
The corten steel structure, with its naturally evolving patina, blends effortlessly with the building’s authentic character. All custom-made components, including glass fittings and cabin design, were developed specifically for this project and brought to life by the SNC Asansör team with meticulous engineering precision.
As exciting for us as it is for the industry, this remarkable project has attracted significant attention and acclaim, and is featured in detail in the March–April 2026 issue of Elevator World magazine.
